PC1- Analysis of theoretical thermodynamic cycles
PC2- Kinetics of internal combustion engines. Geometric parameters, piston displacement, velocity and acceleration, free-body diagrams and instantaneous torque.
PC3- Combustion elements - types of fuels and their chemical compositions; calculation of the stoichiometric ratio of combustion
PC4- Injection systems and their components, sensors and actuators, parameters and operating modes
PC5- Mapping of internal combustion engines in power bank using Electronic Control Units ? ECU.

Learning Outcomes

LO1 - To interpret and apply theoretical formulation for Otto, Diesel and Sabathé cycles
LO2 - To interpret and evaluate the kinematics and dynamics of internal combustion engines (ICE)
LO3 - To characterize the various types of fuels and their chemical compositions and compute its stoichiometric air/fuel relation
LO4 - To understand, interpret and evaluate different types of injection systems in modern ICE
LO5 - To understand and interpret mapping modes operation of a ICE injection system
