Contents
A) Theoretical
- Protection Systems and Protection Coordination (5 weeks).
- Earthing schemes (5 weeks).
- Renewable energy sources and special electrical loads protection (5 weeks).
B) Theoretical Practices
-Analysis and discussion of technical and regulatory matters within the scope of electrical installations. Use of computer tools in the design of electrical installations (2 weeks).
-Design of electrical transformer stations (2 weeks).
-Execution of safety or emergency power generators project, and rescue, reserve or replacement (6 weeks).
-Execution of a surge protection project (5 weeks).
C) Practical Laboratory Classes
-Electrical installations (10 weeks): Pipe sizing, Short-circuit current calculation, Checking electrical installations, ELT and Protection of people against indirect contacts;
-Automatic security and home automation systems in buildings (5 weeks).
Learning Outcomes
Develop skills in the design of special electrical installations, as well as in the methodologies of execution and exploitation of them.
OB1 - Knowledge and Understanding: acquire the ability to identify, reproduce and interpret issues related to the field of education through scientific knowledge already acquired.
OB2 - Engineering Analysis: identify problems, analyze possible solutions and select the most appropriate method for proper implementation.
OB3 - Project Engineering: design solutions that take into account environmental and economic development in the Engineering project, using models and methodologies to optimize solutions.
OB4 research - use different tools to identify, locate, retrieve and organize data needed for a particular purpose.
OB5 - Surround Context: Ability to use computers and other technological means to communicate more effectively.
