Description

Course Description – Basics of International Business and Tourism

This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the principles of international business and the role of tourism in the global economy. It examines the impact of globalization on business activities, the characteristics of international markets, and the political, legal, economic, technological, and cultural factors that influence international business operations. Students gain an understanding of the various forms of international business and the challenges and opportunities associated with operating in diverse global environments.

The course also explores the significance of tourism as a driver of economic development, with particular emphasis on sustainable and socially responsible tourism practices. Key topics include tourism development, destination management, regional tourism, ethical issues, and the implementation of sustainability principles in tourism organisations and destinations.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to analyse international business environments, evaluate opportunities and risks in global markets, understand the importance of cross-cultural management, and apply the principles of sustainable tourism to support responsible business and destination development in an international context.
