Contents
Preparation, assembly and execution of experimental works that may integrate concepts taught in the other courses of the same semester of the Master Course in Bio-resources.
In this course, each group of students carries out two of the experimental works in the areas of separation and preservation processes, molecular and microbial biology, marine biotechnology and agri-food and optimization methods:
CP1- Optimization of the extraction and characterization of antioxidants of residues and by-products of the food industry;
CP2- Optimization of Reverse Osmosis of sea water and its physical-chemical and microbiological characterization throughout the entire process.
CP3- Study of the production of bioplastic from residues with starch.
In each experimental work the students prepare their report. In one of the experimental works an oral presentation is made.
Learning Outcomes
Development of the capacities to:
Obj1- Perform separation and conservation processes at laboratory scale;
Obj2- Evaluate the effects of operating conditions on the performance of separation and conservation processes;
Obj3- Compare experimental results with those obtained from computational simulations;
Obj4- Implement experimental techniques and technologies in the field of molecular biology and marine and agrifood biotechnology;
Obj5- Microbiologically characterize air, water and soil samples.
