Learning Outcomes
This course intends to provide the students with a global view on the chemical and bioprocesses industries, reflected in the following objectives:
OBJ1 - Know and describe the most relevant manufacturing processes in the chemical, oil refining and petrochemical industries (QI)
OBJ2 - Identify opportunities for improvement in current industrial processes at QI, from technical, economic, and environmental points of view
OBJ3 - Identify advantages and disadvantages in replacing conventional raw materials with renewable resources in the production of chemicals, materials, and energy, particularly from a sustainability perspective
OBJ4 - Know, describe, and analyze the processes and technologies of the main biomass processing industries and bioprocess industries
OBJ5 - Know and identify the development potential of the current bioprocess industry towards the perspective of biorefineries
