Learning Outcomes

This course aims to develop professional skills in the field of digital transformation applied to civil engineering. Students will acquire:
- Understanding of BIM processes and uses, with a focus on interoperability, OpenBIM, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to integrate and manage information from different design and construction specialties.
- Knowledge of national and international policies, standards, and guidelines for BIM adoption.
- Knowledge of digital tools for sustainability assessment, including life cycle analysis and decarbonization strategies.
- Competence in analyzing and applying automation and robotics technologies in construction processes.
- Ability to explore digital twins, sensors, and IoT in asset monitoring and decision support.
- Skills in using data analysis methodologies, artificial intelligence, and Big Data in construction projects.
The overall objective is to prepare students to understand, evaluate and apply digital methodologies throughout the lifecycle of built assets, promoting a critical, integrated and collaborative approach to the challenges of Construction 4.0.
