The theme or topic of the dissertation must be previously approved by the Course Director and the autonomous work component implicit in the preparation of the dissertation must be supervised under the guidance of an ISEP teacher/researcher, and there may be co-supervisors, internal or external to ISEP.
The dissertation should be a work involving a strong experimental field or laboratory component, or a modeling/simulation component in engineering, which promotes the development of initiative, decision-making and creative and critical thinking skills.
Learning Outcomes
This unit presupposes the preparation of a dissertation of a technical-scientific nature, on a theme or topic in the field of specialization of the course, which includes a theoretical or experimental component, promoting an innovative approach to the theme or topic to be developed, which is original and specially carried out for this purpose.
This unit promotes the search for information, the analysis of new situations, the development of methodologies and techniques for approaching problems, the rigorous collection of data and the crossing and interpretation of them, the systematization of conclusions and the establishment of future perspectives.
