Contents
Introduction to prestressing techniques. Materials for prestressed concrete structures. Analysis and design of prestressed sections. Design of statically determinate prestressed concrete beams. Prestress losses. Safety verification of anchorage zones. Design of statically indeterminate prestressed concrete beams, in accordance with NP EN 1992-1-1.
Learning Outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to the fundamental principles of prestressed concrete, providing a clear understanding of its structural behaviour and regulatory design criteria. It seeks to develop skills in the analysis and verification of prestressed sections and beams, considering serviceability limit states, prestress losses and the safety of anchorage zones. The course is not focused on the design of major civil works, but on the application of prestressed concrete in ordinary structures, establishing a solid foundation for professional practice or further advanced studies.
