1 - Phases of intervention in the implementation of Transport Infrastructures (5%).
2 - Presentation of the various types of Transport Infrastructures, implementation and construction (5%).
3 - Landfills, soils and road pavements. Characterization according to CETO, objectives and definitions (20%).
3 - Drainage in Transport Infrastructures. Design of drainage elements in the design of roads and railways (30%).

5 - Fundamentals concepts of Railway Engineering. Basic concepts of railway and vehicles. Infrastructure and Railway superstructure: efforts and design concept. Switches turning devices. Efficiency of rail transport. High Speed Railway and Magnetic Levitation (30%).
6 - Airport and port infrastructures. Geometric definition of airfield runways and other parts of an airport. Definitions and arrangement of parts of a sea port (10%).
Learning Outcomes
In this curricular unit, it is intended to transmit knowledge regarding the planning of the construction works and the equipment / technologies to be used in the Infrastructures.
Develop a comprehensive program that allows students to apply knowledge in solving problems in new situations through a broad and multidisciplinary context.
To frame the activities related to the roadways project, in its various components, in particular the transport infrastructure: Highway, Railway, Seaports and Aerodromes.
Emphasize the importance of railways as a means of mass transport that is more efficient and environmentally friendly.
Transmit technical and scientific training to enable competent practice in a key sector of society, where important resources are invested in improving accessibility and mobility of people.
A study visit is also included in the program.
