Learning Outcomes

Understand the importance of the various stages of planning, scheduling and controlling production, as well as the different approaches to implementation and perspective of MRP, JIT and OPT.
The student after attending this course will:
- Understand and characterize the production systems, their information needs and criteria for management support;
- Understand the various phases of planning, programming and control of production and its related functions;
- Analyze, understand and be able to use the various models and techniques for solving the key problems in production management and operations;
- Differentiate the MRP model of JIT in production management and recognize forms of integration.
