Learning Outcomes

The aim of this course is to provide the student with the ability to design and development of dedicated embedded systems, with real-time characteristics in adequate software environments. Design methods and specific architectures for high performance embedded systems are presented. In addition are presented basic concepts of real-time systems and its implementation in operating systems. In particular we study the characteristics of operating systems with real time attributes from the point of view of architecture, design and features. The aim is also to the theoretical study and practical features with a top processor for those architectures.

The student should after completing this course to assess the various options in terms of operating system and development environment for a given application and hardware, and be able to implement all the steps to obtain the final product, including configuration, hardware interface development, installation and application development by taking advantage of the features offered.
