Learning Outcomes

To develop understanding and competences on the design of shallow and deep foundations.
Knowledge of the main types of foundations, their particularities and specificities conditioned by the nature of soil profile. Knowledge of the geotechnical characterization methods. Teaching the principles and methodologies of geotechnical and structural design of foundations under statically and dynamically loads (earthquakes). Contact with different types of marketing solutions, describing the main constraints associated with them. Learning design methods in geotechnical perspective under the new rules of Eurocodes (EC1, EC2, EC7 and EC8-Part 5).
