Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit aims to instil an attitude of "constructive distrust" in the conception, design, development and operation of systems that incorporate computer technologies, an attitude that will be very useful in the other units and in personal and professional life. The student is expected to know how to apply computer security engineering tools effectively, respecting the professional and ethical aspects of using existing solutions. Given the sensitivity and relevance of the topics covered, the student should keep abreast of developments in this area.

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
CO1. Defend the need for a holistic view of the security of computer systems and infrastructures (Bloom Level (BL): 2/3)
CO2. Adopt concepts and methods for managing and controlling access to systems and information (Bloom Level (BL): 4/5)
CO3. Define and implement security and privacy policies for systems and information according to requirements (Bloom Level (BL): 4/5)
CO4. Select architectural solutions capable of meeting system and information security requirements (Bloom Level (BL): 5)
CO5. Draw up and implement security and contingency plans, managing risk and ensuring business continuity, complying with the regulatory framework (Bloom Level (BL): 5)
