Learning Outcomes

The programmatic content of the Curricular Unit, together with the knowledge of Dynamics already acquired, aims to provide the student with the practical ability to analyze and characterize the phenomenon of mechanical vibrations, either in systems with one degree of freedom or multiple degrees of freedom.
The aim is to achieve the following objectives:
OB1-To give the student the ability to analyze and characterize the phenomenon of mechanical vibrations in structures or machines and its associated forces;
OB2-Identify the most important parameters associated with the phenomenon of mechanical vibrations;
OB3-Determine the effects of vibration on the performance and safety of mechanical systems;
OB4-Apply the appropriate techniques for monitoring and controlling vibration.
