1. Basic Quality Concepts ; Summary of Quality and Management Tools
2. General guidelines for choosing and using Quality Tools
3. Analysis of cases and examples of statistical applications in data processing
4. Statistical process control (SPC): the concept of variation, common causes and special causes, variable and attributes control charts, machine capacity and process capability;
5. Six sigma: performance indicator, method to master the variability;
6. Acceptance Sampling: sampling of attributes and sampling of variables;
7. QFD (Quality Function Deployment);
8. FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)

Learning Outcomes

To provide Students with the knowledge and the capability to comprehend and apply the techniques and quality tools, within a systemic, integrated and multidisciplinary perspective.
Skills and competences to be developed by students:
LO1- Be able to select and to apply quality tools;
LO2- Be able to apply process statistic control;
LO3- Confer expertises in the area of six sigma methodology;
LO4- Know how to elaborate acceptance sampling plans;
LO5- Know how to elaborate a quality matrix QFD;
