Learning Outcomes
This course aims to provide students with:
O1 - Knowledge of standards and procedures for characterization of soils and rocks;
O2 - Knowledge of the processes that regulate the transport of contaminants in the soil and the techniques used to
perform the decontamination of soil;
O3 - Knowledge of the factors of groundwater contamination and the techniques to use to prevent or remedy the
contamination of groundwater
Intermediate
The student should be able to perform the normal tests for the characterization of soils and rocks.
Terminals
Students should be able to, working as a team, perform a scale model that illustrates the processes of contamination of groundwater and soils in order to integrate the knowledge to develop solutions and issue judgments on geoenvironmental protection projects.
