Description

Adopt the usage of electronic tools. Knowing the basis of programming in Python for solving chemical problems. Learn the basic approach to predictive modeling with machine learning in chemical and engineering problems. Build the skills for solving chemical problems by using Excel and Matlab. Knowing the basis of programs for data processing, numerical problem solving, drawing and report writing.

Learning Outcomes

Student will be able to: - List major arithmetic and logical operators supported by programming language, and arrange operator’s precedence. - Convert mathematical expressions into computer code. - Recognize major structures in the computer program: data input, loops, if statements, sets, lists, functions etc., and predict the output. - Construct a flow chart and develop a source code. - Explain the concept of using machine learning for predictive models in chemistry and chemical engineering. - Use spreadsheets, like Excel, for data storage, manipulation, sorting, filtering, visualization. - Use Matlab for solving simple chemical and chemical engineering problems.
